Public speaking is a big barrier for many people, the fear of getting nervous, of exposing yourself, of being judged, of being left with the feeling of not being able to transmit everything you know, or of not being able to convince. It is not only because you do not know the techniques, most of the time you lack the fundamental usual practice where you can overcome the fear of exposure to other people and address them in a way that they not only understand us, but also connect with the message of what we say.

If you have decided to leave those barriers behind, you have come to the right place. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has developed a unique speech study program, helping more than 4 million people like you, from all over the world, to improve their speech and leadership skills.

Valencia Toastmasters is a non-profit volunteer organization, affiliated with Toastmasters International for 13 years, where we provide affordable continuing education and practice in a friendly and relaxed environment where you can improve your public speaking skills. Unlike many courses or seminars the emphasis is on the practical aspect and feedback from those who attend the meetings.

We are a group of enthusiastic and experienced people from a diverse range of professional backgrounds and nationalities. Our aim is to create a supportive and motivating environment for people who wish to improve their communication skills.

In our club, you will receive continuous encouragement and help in conquering your nerves and constructing effective communications.

Meetings are designed to maximise your opportunity to put theory into practice either through prepared speeches or developing the fundamental skill of “thinking on your feet“. There are no instructors in our meetings, instead, we mutually evaluate each other’s presentations.

The official language for meetings is English. Members are welcome to give speeches in Spanish; however, it is expected that all members understand and are capable of expressing themselves in English.
